kitProtector.

kitProtector is a tool that allows to secure your computer given to public use. With the help of this tool you can block the user's actions aimed at wrecking the OS and performing unplanned actions. kitProtector works according to the following functionality:

Blocks system key combinations (Ctrl+Alt+Del, Ctrl+Esc, Alt+Tab, Ctrl+Shft+Esc, Win+..., Toggles keys, etc);
Blocks Windows OS programs as well as third-party ones. Blocks the windows according to the list that was set;
Locks Desktop and the user access to the TaskBar.( Disable the "Task Manager);
Performs monitoring of the configuration selected software, i.e. runs the software and tracks its work, if a user closes the application, kitProtector will start it again with the given parameters;
Specify the time limit to use a program;
During the long-lasting idle time activates a screensaver which is the Internet URL or the link to the local file;
The password control prevents unauthorized users to change settings or uninstall the program.
Allows switching off and restarting a computer in a set time.

General page

On the page General you should indicate the password for stopping kitProtector’s work. You can also define the parameters for automated enter to the OS.

Unlock password - the field for entering stop password for kitProtector.

Start with Winodws - set this flag for automated starting-up of the kitProtector together with the OS start-up

Autologin: - set this flag for the automated login to the system

User name - the field for entering the user’s name for the automated login to the system
User password - the field for entering the user’s password for the automated login to the system
Domain - the field for entering the domain’s name for the automated login to the system

Control page

On this page you can setup the application, which will start up the kitProtector, and control its performance.

File name - the field for entering the file name to start up your application, to choose the file you can operate the “…” button

Command line - the command line parameters, which will be used to start up your application (this field is optional)

Window name - main window name in your application (this field is optional)

Options page

On the page Options you can indicate different setting for kitProtector’s work. Here you can choose the time of restart, switching off or switching to the stand-by mode. You can define the idle time for the computer, after which the defined web-page will be downloaded. Switch-off emulation will be launched by defining the period when the "time off" is turned on.

Restart

Reboot - the time when your computer will be restarted
Shut down - the time when your computer will be switched off
Standby - the time when your computer will be switched to the stand-by mode

Screen saver

Wait - time when the computer is idle
URL - the Internet site address or web-path to the page on a local disk

Time off

Start at - time for turning on the computer switch-off emulation
Stop at - time for turning off the computer switch-off emulation

Monitor page

The page Monitor serves to define the work parameters of the third party applications. With the help of these parameters you can allow or forbid the third party applications launch. During kitProtector setup there’s a list of default windows. To edit this list use the buttons "Add", "Edit", "Remove". It is significant that windows names are different depending on the OS localization. For the correct work of the application in the other localization you shall adapt this list or create a new one.

Unlock kitProtector

To stop the work of kitProtector you should push and hold the Shift+Alt+F12 key combination until the “Unlock” dialogue appears. In the typing field in “Unlock” dialogue you should enter the password, which you have given on General page and click the “Ok” button.
